Our Story
Our Story: Crafting Wood into Wonders, Since 2017
Every great journey starts with a simple idea—and for Mywoodcrafter, it began with a passion for wood’s natural beauty and a belief that “good craftsmanship should make custom wood products accessible to everyone.” Back in 2017, our founder, a seasoned woodworker with over 15 years in the industry, noticed a gap: many businesses and individuals struggled to find a reliable partner that could turn their unique wood product ideas into high-quality, affordable reality. So, in Jiangsu—a region known for its woodworking heritage—Mywoodcrafter was born, with a small workshop, a handful of basic machines, and a big dream.
2017-2019: The Early Days—Building Roots with Care
In our first two years, we operated out of a 500-square-meter workshop, with just 5 workers and 2 old engraving machines. Our days were long: we’d spend hours discussing designs with clients over the phone, hand-sanding every piece to ensure no splinter was left, and even delivering small orders ourselves to check on customer satisfaction. Back then, most of our projects were small—custom wooden keychains for local shops, simple hangboards for climbing enthusiasts, and small storage boxes for families.
But what we lacked in scale, we made up for in heart. Every order, no matter how small, was treated like a treasure. We remembered clients’ preferences (like Mrs. Li, who wanted her daughter’s name carved into a walnut jewelry box for her birthday) and went out of our way to solve problems (like adjusting a wooden tool handle’s shape three times until a carpenter said it “fit like a glove”). Word spread slowly but steadily—local businesses started coming to us, and soon, we realized: our little workshop was outgrowing its space.
2020-2022: Growing Stronger—Investing in Quality & Scale
By 2020, demand for our custom wood products had grown so much that we made a big decision: move to a larger, more standardized production base. We found a 3,600-square-meter space in Jiangsu, split into a workshop, warehouse, and office—and invested heavily in better equipment. Goodbye to the old machines; hello to 10 new 3-axis engraving machines, 4 high-precision 4-axis machines, and 5 shaping machines. We also added a laser engraver, which let us create finer details (like intricate logos on brand merchandise) that our old tools couldn’t manage.
But machines weren’t the only upgrade. We hired more workers—mostly seasoned woodworkers with 10+ years of experience, like Master Wang, who could sand a piece of beech until it felt as smooth as silk. We also brought on two engineers, Alex and Lisa, who specialized in turning rough sketches into detailed 3D drawings. For the first time, we could take on bigger projects: 1-meter-wide wooden pallets for a logistics company, bulk orders of golf ball brushes for a sports brand, and even custom wooden animal statues for a children’s museum.
Through it all, we stuck to our original promise: no matter how big we got, we’d never cut corners on quality. Every piece still goes through 3 rounds of quality checks—once after engraving, once after sanding, and once before packaging. We even kept the tradition of storing wood in a temperature-controlled warehouse, because we know that well-cared-for wood makes better products.
2023-Today: Crafting Connections, Not Just Products
Today, Mywoodcrafter is a team of 30+ dedicated people, with clients across China and even some overseas (like a climbing gym in Australia that orders our custom hangboards every quarter). But if you walk into our workshop, you’ll still feel the same warmth as in 2017: workers laughing as they sand wood, engineers huddling over a 3D drawing to tweak a design, and our founder stopping by to check on a new order.
What drives us now is the same thing that drove us then: the joy of turning a client’s idea into something real. Last year, a young couple came to us with a sketch of a wooden wedding arch—they wanted it to have their initials and the date carved into the beech posts. On their wedding day, they sent us photos: the arch stood in a garden, draped in flowers, and their guests kept asking where they got it. That’s the magic of what we do: we don’t just make wood products—we make things that matter.
Tomorrow: Keeping the Craft Alive, One Piece at a Time
As we look to the future, we want to keep growing—but never at the cost of what makes us “us.” We’re planning to add more eco-friendly wood options (like bamboo) and learn new techniques (like 3D carving for more complex designs). But most of all, we want to keep listening to our clients. Because every story we help create—whether it’s a business’s branded wooden pens, a family’s custom shelf, or a kid’s first wooden toy—is part of our story too.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We can’t wait to see what we’ll craft together next.
